From Ramen to Rich Enough for This Week: How to Make $1,000 in a Week

Learn how to make $1,000 in a week – for when you need money yesterday, or want to upgrade your ramen to a restaurant instead of a packet.

It feels like eons ago now, but I vividly remember driving around the suburban Chicago area where my boyfriend (now husband) and I lived. I was shopping for our weekly groceries and household supplies and trying to budget $10 for cleaning supplies, $25 for lunch staples, etc… in my head.

I always told myself it would be ok, and it mostly was, but there was always the thought it might not be.

On the outside we looked fine, but there was always a stress lurking in the background for how we would actually pay for the things we needed and/or wanted.

We always had our parents to back us up, but neither of us ever wanted to make that phone call. We had decent, if not low paying starter jobs, so we should be able to budget and save like adults – in theory.

Back then, we didn’t have access to all of the online resources to make money that people do now. The internet was there (I’m not that old), but it wasn’t like it is now.

Now, you can definitely figure out how to make $1,000 in a week when you need to eat something other than ramen, or buy your kid sport’s uniform, or pay the last bit of mortgage, etc…

Below are the ways I’ve used or would use if I needed $1,000, like yesterday.

The Stock Market – Not Just for Gordon Gekko

I hesitate to put this one on here since I’m not a big fan of day trading, but you can’t talk about making money online without diving into the swirling seas of the stock market.

Contrary to popular belief, the stock market is not just a playground for the Wall Street hotshots. With a bit of research, AI, and apps that enable small-scale investments, anyone can dabble in stocks.

Start small, learn the ropes, and be smart with your decisions.

Marketing – The Affiliate Kind

Affiliate marketing is one of those things…

You could either languish in social media oblivion forever without a single sale, or you could hit on something that resonates with people and make an absolute killing right away.

With affiliate marketing, you promote other people’s products and when the masses buy it, you get a cut of the sale. The buyer doesn’t pay anything, the owner of the product is the one who pays you.

The fastest way to get going is to sign up to be an affiliate for products on an affiliate aggregator site, get accepted to one or two and then promote your links on social media like a crazy person.

If my post isn’t enough, check out Michelle’s Affiliate Marketing Course. I took it and loved it.

If you do start promoting, you’ll need a way to collect emails, I use ConvertKit, and a way to manage your social media, I use Tailwind.

A website doesn’t hurt either. I use Bluehost for domain names and websites.

How to Make $1,000 in a Week – Or Maybe Longer

These next two are not necessarily “in a week” type of money makers. These ones take longer, but they are by far the most trusted ways to make money on the good ol’ internet, and they are sustainable for the long-term too.

Try the others listed above to get your immediate expenses covered, but then do one of the two below to solidify your financial future.

Hustling Like a Boss – Your Key to Learning How to Make $1,000 in a Week

Who wouldn’t want $1,000 by the end of the week?

I know I would, and I also know of times when I desperately needed $1,000 by the end of the week.

It truly is ok, and all of this is doable.

You just have to be brave/bold/crazy enough to give one of the above a whirl.

If nothing else, you’ve learned a little bit about side hustlin’ online and you can take that info with you for your next money-making concoction.

I also know that ramen is delicious, but it would be nice to buy the Momofuku brand instead of the .99 cents kind with the powder mystery meat packet. 😊
